We built DQ because we were tired of waiting in line.
Our mission is simple: make the checkout queue extinct in Indian specialty retail.
Every Indian has wasted 30 minutes waiting to pay for ₹200 worth of groceries.
You've already decided what to buy. You've already picked it up. You're just waiting to give someone money — and that wait costs the store more than they realise.
That's broken. We built the fix.
DQ started with a single question: what if the billing counter just wasn't needed? The answer is a 3-app ecosystem — customers scan and pay on their phone, staff get real-time order management, and store owners get business intelligence that used to require enterprise software.
Perpule proved this category is real. Amazon acquired them for their large-format retail play. We're here for the 180,000 mid-market fashion and lifestyle stores they didn't serve — the boutiques, the jewellery counters, the branded lifestyle stores that define India's high-street retail.
We are early stage, with a working product, a focused niche, and the infrastructure timing on our side. UPI, QR acceptance, and smartphone penetration have converged to make now the right moment. We're moving fast while that window is open.
“To make the checkout queue extinct in Indian retail.”
Our Mission
The timing has never been better.
Three converging forces make 2025–2026 the exact right moment for self-checkout in Indian fashion retail.
UPI crossed 10 billion monthly transactions
India's payment infrastructure is now mature enough that every customer at a fashion store can pay in 5 seconds on their phone. The rails are built. DQ runs on them.
QR acceptance became mainstream post-2020
Contactless-first behaviour is now the default for Indian urban consumers. Scanning a code to pay is no longer a behaviour DQ needs to teach — it already exists.
Indian fashion retail is digitising — but checkout hasn't
Branded stores in India have adopted ERP, Instagram, and online payments. The one touchpoint still running on 1990s logic is the billing counter. That's the gap DQ fills.
180,000 mid-market stores with no self-checkout option
Perpule proved the demand at large-format retail and was acquired by Amazon. The 180,000 mid-market fashion and lifestyle stores they didn't serve are DQ's primary market.
What makes DQ hard to replicate
Exit QR validation
Theft prevention built into the checkout flow — not a bolted-on feature.
6-language support
Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, English — built for pan-India rollout.
3-app ecosystem
Customer, staff, and admin apps that work together — not three separate tools.
48-hour deployment
